Welcome to AV Paws & Hooves — A Local Voice for Pets, Horses & the People Who Love Them |
Welcome to the very first issue of AV Paws & Hooves. |
We created this newsletter for the animal lovers of the Antelope Valley — the dog owners, cat families, horse people, ranchers, rescuers, volunteers, foster families, and everyday neighbors who believe animals deserve care, protection, and a stronger local voice.
Each issue will highlight local pet and horse-related stories, adoption opportunities, rescue needs, safety tips, community events, and businesses that support the animal community.
Our goal is simple: help connect good people with good causes — and make the Antelope Valley a better place for pets, horses, and the people who care for them. |
Why AV Paws & Hooves Exists |
The Antelope Valley has a unique animal community. We have suburban pet owners, rural horse properties, ranch families, rescue groups, shelters, trainers, groomers, veterinarians, feed stores, boarding facilities, and everyday people stepping up when animals need help. But too often, that community is scattered across Facebook posts, lost pet alerts, shelter pages, rescue updates, and word of mouth. AV Paws & Hooves was created to help bring more of that information into one place. We want this newsletter to become a trusted local resource where readers can discover adoptable pets, learn about local rescue needs, find animal-related events, support local businesses, and stay informed about issues affecting pets and horses in the AV. |
Know a Pet or Horse That Deserves the Spotlight? |
Each issue, we plan to feature a local pet, rescue animal, senior dog, working horse, therapy animal, foster success story, or animal-loving neighbor making a difference.
Have a story we should know about?
Send us a photo, the animal’s name, location, and a few details about why they should be featured. |
Adoption & Rescue Corner |
We’ll be working to connect with local rescues, shelters, fosters, and animal advocates to help spotlight animals looking for homes and organizations that need support.
Future issues may include:
If you’re part of a local rescue, shelter, foster network, or animal nonprofit, we’d love to hear from you. |
Hooves Around the AV |
The Antelope Valley has a strong horse and ranch community, and AV Paws & Hooves will include space for equine updates, horse care tips, local riding groups, feed and tack resources, training spotlights, trail information, and stories from local horse owners.
Whether you have one backyard horse, run a ranch, board horses, train, ride, rescue, or simply love the equine lifestyle, this section is for you. |
AV Animal Safety Tip: Heat Comes Fast Out Here |
A few reminders:
When in doubt, cool the animal down and contact a veterinarian. |
Help Us Build This Local Animal Community |
AV Paws & Hooves is just getting started, and we want the community involved from the beginning.

This newsletter will grow best when the community helps shape it. |
